"Back when I was in prog-rock and fusion bands, I was
surrounded with keyboard gear and equipment. You couldn't turn around
without bumping into something with black&white keys. One of the other
musicians took notice of my affinity for collecting music gear and called me
a "Gearhead", meaning someone who can't resist buying the latest equipment
even if you dont need it. He was a little off the mark, since I used
everything I bought, but the name stuck. It wasn't until years later that I
discovered a 'gearhead' is also the name of someone who's a car or motorcyle
enthusiast." All Music © Copyright 1996-2006 Gearhead
